Muse, 22 April

No one was injured in a warehouse fire in Muse, the border town in Northern Shan State, according to a source from the Information and Public Relations Department.

The fire broke out at a silo for cotton belonging to a woman named Ma Ar Hla from Kaunghmutone Ward in Muse Township at about 10:30 p.m. on 21 April. The fire is thought to have started from an overheated wire and hasn’t spread nearby buildings. Around 120 firefighters from a local fire service station rushed to the scene of fire and extinguished the flame with the use of three fire engines, nine water tankers and an administrative vehicle.

The estimated loss of property due to the blaze is about 5 million and an action has been taken against the in-charge of the granary over fire negligence by the local police.—L Soe (IPRD)
