An event to provide financial assistance to affected households took place at the meeting room of the township General Administration Department in Htigyaint township, Katha district, Sagaing region this morning.

Strong winds swept through some villages in the township on April 21, blowing off the roofs of some houses and religious buildings in ten village-tracts. The roofs of two monasteries and 15 houses were blown away and three housed were blown down by the strong winds.

Township administrator U Soe Lwin and deputy township administrator U Thein Toe Win handed over K 901200, provided for affected people by Katha district Disaster Risk Management Department, to respective village administrators and affected households—Ye Lin Tun (Htigyaint)
