At least five houses were reportedly destroyed in a fire in Hsinte Village, Yinmabin Township in Sagaing Region.

Based on a phone call about the fire, local firefighters rushed to the scene of fire that started at about 11:20 p.m. on 11 May. The fire was brought under control fifty minutes later and was completely put out about an hour later by the firemen with the use of four fire engines and four water tankers. The fire is believed to have started from ember in the kitchen and spread nearby houses.

Five houses, eight sheds and two kitchens were burnt to ashes. Deputy Commissioner U Tun Tun Naing, Township Administrator U Ye Lin Aung and the commander of township police force Police Major Moe Khaing went to the scene of fire to assess the situation.—IPRD
