Shwegu, May 12
Two men were arrested after police seizing heroin worth K 109 million from them on a road linking Nyaung Gone village with Hnote Cho village in the town of Shwegu, Kachin state yesterday afternoon.
Upon information received, police officers from Bamaw town Anti-Drug squad intercepted two motorcyclists, later identified as Min Min Soe and Ron Hua, on a road between Nyaung Gone village and Hnote Cho village in Shwegu township and searched them as well as two motorbikes.
The police found 1090 gram of heroin hidden in 109 soap boxes, each soap box containing 10 gram of heroin, loaded on one of the motorbikes.
Police officers from Shwegu township police station pressed drug charges against the two for carrying heroin.—Kyaw Myo Aung (IPRD)
