Hakha, May 22

Hakha district agricultural development bank in Chin state started giving loans for monsoon agricultural costs to farmers on May 15 and it has so far given agricultural loan of more than K 110 million to a total of 338 farmers from 13 villages in Hakha township, according to the bank.

The bank plans to give  K 255.2 million loan to a total of 900 farmers in 30 villages in Hakha township in Hakha district this financial year. The bank offers a loan of K 150000 per acre for paddy farmers and a loan of K 100000 per acre for corn farmers.

The bank is offering agricultural loans to farmers in accordance with the guidance from Chin State Covid-19 Control and Emergency Response Committee and the Ministry of Health and Sports, said Daw Shan Dwe, manager of the bank.—Aung Kway Shein (IPRD)
