The 634-meter Tokyo landmark, a broadcasting and observation tower, opened its doors on Monday as the Tokyo metropolitan government further eased restrictions on business operations. It was closed on March 1.

Tower workers took temperatures of visitors at the entrance, and called on them to wear face masks, except for those younger than school age.

A Tokyo resident in his 50s says since 2012 he has always visited the Skytree on the anniversary of its opening.

He says he is pleased to come back to the observation deck after a long time. He says he felt a bit sad to see fewer people than expected, but he's glad about the social distancing.
