Thailand has eased coronavirus restrictions, allowing restaurants to offer alcohol and Muay Thai boxing bouts to be held without spectators.

The easing of restrictions came on Monday. No new cases, except for imported ones, have been reported in the country over the last three weeks.

In Bangkok, customers had their temperatures taken before entering restaurants.
Night clubs and bars remain shut. The government says there is a higher risk of infection there.

A manager at a restaurant says the sale of alcohol will bring in more revenue for the restaurant. The manager said the restaurant will keep taking precautions against coronavirus infection.

A Muay Thai stadium in the Bangkok area is preparing to reopen this weekend. It is taking a series of infection prevention measures, as a number of cases was confirmed at another venue in March.

These include limiting the number of people inside the stadium, urging people to check their temperatures and wash their hands, and getting boxers to see doctors before their bouts.
