Three people were killed and 13 others injured after a passenger bus overturned in Nawnkhio Township, Northern Shan State, according to the Ministry of Home Affairs.
    

The fatal accident took place between mileposts 83 and 84 on the Mandalay-Lashio Road at about 3:30 p.m. on 17 June. The passenger bus plunged into a ravine due to its faculty braking system. Firefighters carried out a rescue operation for the traffic victims. Three people—two men and one woman—died on the spot and thirteen people were hurt in the incident.
    

The injured people were transferred to a public hospital in Nawnkhio and the passenger bus driver is being questioned over reckless driving by the local police.
