A relief flight of Myanmar National Airline bringing back 152 Myanmar nationals from Singapore, and a special flight from Korea Airlines bringing back 87 Myanmar seamen from South Korea landed at the Yangon International Airport yesterday.
Myanmar seamen from foreign countries needed crewchange after their contracts have expired, and the Myanmar Embassy in Soeul helped in their return to home after their shipping companies arranged to send them to Incheon International Airport.
The Ministry of Labour, Immigration and Population, Ministry of Health and Sports and local officials helped the returnees for health inspections and arranged for 21-day quarantine.
To bring back the Myanmar citizens who are stranded in foreign countries in relief flight and charter flight in accordance with the instructions from National-Level Central Committee for Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs cooperated with the relevant ministries and Myanmar embassies from respective countries and brought back 1,762 Myanmar citizens through South Korea and 1,760 persons via Singapore to date.—MNA (Translated by EPPA)
