The Namti-Tanai-Pangsaung Road was submerged by floodwaters after incessant heavy rains in Tanai Township, Kachin State this morning, resulting in temporary suspension of vehicles.
    

Construction workers and heavy machineries are ready to repair the flooded road section, according to an official from the Department of Road. Some residents and animals were evacuated to safer locations after torrential rains hit Nan Phyan Yin Village about 8 miles from Tanai Township.
    

No casualties were reported due to the flooding and necessary preparations are being made for possible inundation, said the village administrator.
