About 200 houses plus a high school in Sha Du Zut Village, Phakant Township were submerged by floodwaters from the Mogaung Creek due to incessant rains and torrential rains yesterday morning.
    

Some vehicles commuting along the Tanai-Phakant Road halted operations due to the inundation and flood victims were evacuated to safer places by rescuers by boats. A rescue operation is being carried out by a joint team consisting of departmental staff, policemen and firefighters led by Kamai Town Administrator.
    

52 people from 13 households are currently taking shelter at a church and 21 flood victims from four families are sheltering at their relative’s houses. The water level of Mogaung Creek reduced by 2 ft. and Ledo Road was inundated about 3 ft.
