Under the instructions guided by the Ministry of Health and Sports, some high schools across the nation have reopened starting on 21 July and twenty-four high schools in Kayah State have also resumed this morning.
With the aim of preventing the spread of COVID-19 pandemic and ensuring safe environment for students, Kayah State authorities inspected the COVID-19 preventative measures in the schools starting from 18 July to 20 July before the schools reopen. After inspection, they permitted 18 government high schools and four private high schools in the State to reopen in line with the guidance issued by the Ministry of Health and Sports.
In Kayah State, there are 56 government high schools and six private high schools. Of which, 24 schools have reopened starting on this morning. Other remaining schools will soon be reopened as the needs of the schools have been fulfilled, said Director of State Education Department.
In Kayah Sate, a total of four government high schools and four private high schools in Loikaw Township, 13 government high schools in Demoso Township, one high school in the town of Shanywathit in Bawlakhae District have reopened.
