Deputy Minister for Information U Aung Hla Tun presided over the work committee meeting to organize centenary celebrations of Myanmar film industry yesterday. Together with the deputy minister, as the chairman of committee, Rakhine Ethnic Affairs Minister of Yangon Region government U Zaw Aye Maung, as the vice-chairman of committee, and its members attended the meeting held at the studio of Film Promotion Division under the Information and Public Relations Department in Bahan Township, Yangon.
The deputy minister said that discussions for centenary celebrations of Myanmar film industry are being made since last year, and the event must be organized in line with rules and directives for containment measures against the COVID-19.
He continued to say that the work committee also needs to support its 16 sub-committees in preparing for the celebrations, and seek approvals for the work plans from the leading committee. Vice-Chairman U Zaw Aye Maung, as the Chairman of Fund-raising Sub-Committee, also made discussions, and Acting Director-General of IPRD U Aye Kywe asked for decisions of the work committee on the issues presented by sub-committees, followed by discussions of work committee members. Organized on 27 March 2020, the work committee was tasked with four main duties including forming sub-committees and supervising their works, coordination among the sub-committees and scrutinizing their budgets.—MNA
