Mawlamyine, 23 July
A total of 83 people – 52 men and 31 women—returned to Mawlamyine, Mon State via Myawady in Kayin State from Thailand yesterday evening.
The returnees were welcomed by Mon State Minister for Bamar Ethnic Affairs U Shwe Myint, Mawlamyine Deputy Commissioner U Wai Lin Tun and government employees. They got medical checkups, temperature checks, and provided with food and accommodation.
They would be placed under one-week observation at facility quarantine and would be transferred to respective townships for 21-day quarantine if they are found not infected with virus. So far, 8447 people came back home from abroad during the period from 1 May to 23 July.
