Myawaddy, 24 July

A total of 622 Myanmar migrant workers including 372 men and 250 women were handed over by the Thai authorities to their Myanmar counterpart at No. 2 Myawaddy Friendship Bridge yesterday.

The returnees were welcomed by the district Administrator U Tay Za Aung, the district deputy Administrator U Aung Chan Nyein and departmental officials, and provided free medical check-ups and necessary assistance to them to go back homes.
A total of 52412 Myanmar migrant workers have been handed over by Thailand to Myanmar from May 1 to July 23 this year.
