Union Minister for Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation U Ohn Win inspected the forest plantations in Magway Region yesterday.
The Union Minister first inspected the 45-acre of China-Myanmar friendship forest plantation that was grown during the rainy season of 2017 in the Plot No. 216 of Nga Min Forest Reserve near the Mile Post (28/1) on Nay Pyi Taw-Kanpya Road in Taungdwingyi Township, Magway Region.
Upon inspecting the plantation, he stressed the importance of fully growing the trees and systematically nurturing the plants.
He urged the officials to systematically use agricultural equipment in nurturing trees in accordance with the instructions that are included in the nurturing-plantation subject.
He also visited the Dry Zone Greening Department’s 20-acre plantation near the Mile Post (38/4) on Nay Pyi Taw-Kanpya Road in Myothit Township, Magway Region.
At the plantation’s briefing hall, officials concerned reported on the data about the trees that were planted there during 2018 and 2019.
On inspecting the 2/2019 plantation, he instructed officials to make the methods of forest inventory uniform — 100% method or sample-based method.
He also inspected the Dry Zone Greening Department’s a 500-tree plantation near Mile Post 38/2 and another 20-acre of trees that were grown in 2018 near Mile Post 38/0 on Nay Pyi Taw-Kanpya Road in Myothit Township.
In the afternoon, he visited the 55-acre of plantation in Plot No 218 of Nga Min Forest Reserve near the Mile Post 26/6 on Nay Pyi Taw-Kanpya Road.
After listening to the reports on the trees’ conditions at the plantation, he also gave necessary instructions to the officials concerned.—MNA
