A collective tree-planting ceremony took place in Shangon Village and Tetwan Village in Natmauk Township, Magway Region yesterday. 

With the aim of keeping the environment green, maintaining soil and temperature, Magway Region CM Dr. Aung Moe Nyo, Minister for the region Ministry of Social Welfare Dr. Khin Maung Aye, the region Hluttaw Representative U Thawng Shwe, the township Administrator, departmental officials, students and teachers participated in the activity and jointly grew 2500 saplings including teak, pingadon and padauk in the compound of monasteries and schools in the two villages, according to a resident.
