MYANMAR Hluttaw representatives organized the first preparatory meeting yesterday to attend the 41st ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA) General Assembly, which is scheduled from 8 to 10 September. 


In the meeting, the Myanmar delegation leader and Pyidaungsu Hluttaw Deputy Speaker U Tun Tun Hein said that most of the delegation members have previous experiences, and they need to prepare well to effectively make discussions in the 41st AIPA General Assembly.


Pyidaungsu Hluttaw AIPA Joint Committee Chairman U Zaw Thein explained the detailed preparations for the AIPA General Assembly. 


AIPA National Secretariat Deputy Director-General U Bone Kyi Aung talked about the programmes of the AIPA General Assembly, Draft Resolutions and matters related to the administration for the assembly.


The attendees also discussed relevant matters including draft proposals, AIPA General Assembly programmes and preparations. 


Myanmar delegation leader U Tun Tun Hein delivered a concluding speech, saying that participating in the assembly from home country can gain advantages for the Myanmar delegation, and he also urged the attendees to work unitedly and exert great efforts to be ready for the AIPA General Assembly. 


The upcoming AIPA General Assembly will convene via videoconferencing for the first time.
