The retail and wholesale trading forum was held at the office of UMFCCI yesterday morning.
Firstly, Union Minister for Commerce Dr Than Myint said the forum was organized to achieve good potentials for retail and wholesale trading sector in the post COVID-19 period by coordinating with those participating in these sectors as the providers of the whole supply chain in retail and wholesale businesses are facing difficulties during COVID-19 pandemic and the demand is also decreasing.
The government released COVID-19 Economic Relief Plan (CERP) and under this goal, it includes promoting innovative products to ease the hardships of businesspeople and it is also cooperating with the relevant departments and organizations for the future plans, he added.
The Union Minister continued that the retailers and wholesalers should discuss their suggestions, programmes and practical support to solve their difficulties and for the development of retail and wholesale businesses.
Afterwards, Deputy Minister U Aung Htoo, UMFCCI President U Zaw Min Win, officials of departments concerned, experts, relevant organizations members, retailers and wholesalers
participated in the discussion under four topics—opportunities and challenging in conducting innovative retail and wholesale businesses, chances and challenges that the foreign and Myanmar businesspeople face while they are cooperating with the foreign businesspeople, suggestions and good points and weak points in conducting the businesses in line with the supportive programmes, policies and procedures for retail and wholesale businesses.—MNA (Translated by Khine Thazin Han)
