Approximately 170 houses from three villages in Kyauimaraw Township, Mon State have been inundated by floodwaters following incessant rains in the area.
    

Heavy rains swept across the township since August 2 and some houses in low-lying areas were submerged about 2 ft. by floodwaters. Officials from the Irrigation Department under the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation went to the flooded areas to check out as to whether the floodgates are resilient or nor.
    

They also joined concerned officials and village administrators to give a helping hand to the flood victims.
