Flood victims from Minbu Township, Magway Region were furnished with cash assistance by local authorities. The event was held at a religious edifice of a monastery in Minbu Township yesterday afternoon. 

 

On the occasion, Magway Region MP U Kyaw Ngwe, Township Administrator U Thein Zaw Kan, Head of the township fire brigade U Sein Tun, and an official from the Department of Disaster Management under the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement presented K 2,100 each 1,780 flood victims from 541 households totaling over K 3.7 million. 

 

Two more families from Ward-1 and Letpandaw Village moved to a temporary relief camp on August 4 due to floodwaters from the Ayeyawady River. The number of people sheltering at temporary rescue camps in the township has reached 1,791 so far.—Maung Maung (Minbu)
