With the aim of boosting the income of local people and their socio-economic status, loans to implement emerald green projects were disbursed to farmers at the Dhamayone of Po-U Village in Gangaw Township, Magway Region yesterday.

At the event, an official from the township Department of Rural Development clarified the purpose of the project and explained the rules and regulations of the emerald green projects to be abode by rural people. Afterwards, Staff from DRD dispensed K 36.0 million to members of village emerald green project committee in the village.

Altogether 232 people—96 people in agriculture business, 128 in livestock breeding business and eight in trading business received loans of the project.

Personnel from the township DRD disbursed loans of the project to members of village emerald green project committee in accordance with the rules released by Ministry of Health and Sports amid the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic.—Htein Aung Naing
