As part of efforts to implement the Covid-19 Economic Recovery Plan, the Department of Rural Development has been undertaking rural development tasks in Pwintbyu Township, Magway Region under what it described as “Cash For Work” to increase the income of rural people amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
The department carried out the upgrade works for two gravel roads in Taung Inn Village to help locals get income during the Covid-19 pandemic. The upgrade works began in the last week of July with K 10 million from the project and the improvements have been 100 percent finished.
K 120 million is being spent on carrying out the upgrade works from rural roads in 12 villages in the township in the current fiscal year, according to an official from the DRD.
