Kyaukse, 1 September

A fire broke out in the house of Daw Mar Yee in Nyaungshwe Village in Kyaukse Township, Mandalay Region at about 6:45 am on 1 September.

The fire was believed to have started from a lighted mosquito coil left near bedding in the house of Daw Mar Yee.

15 firefighters from the district Fire Services Department rushed to the incident scene to put out the fire in collaboration with locals using two fire engines and the blaze was successfully extinguished.

The fire totally destroyed four houses in the village, causing a loss of about K 257500. The authorities pressed charged against Daw Mar Yee for her negligence.
