A volunteer medical team including doctors and nurses to combat COVID-19 disease in Sittway, Pauktaw and Manaung townships of Rakhine State arrived in Sittway Township by a special flight of Myanmar National Airlines yesterday morning. 


They were welcomed by Head of Rakhine State Public Health and Medical Services Department Dr Sai Win Zaw Hlaing and the relevant officials at the airport. 


The health workers group included 1 assistant doctors (medicine), two assistant doctors and 4 nurses. 


Similarly, 128 volunteers are serving in COVID-19 prevention, control and treatment activities in Sittway, Kyaukphyu, An, Pauktaw and Manaung townships. 


According to the data of the Ministry of Health and Sports, the volunteer medical team including 2 Directors, 2 Deputy-Directors, 2 Heads of District Public Health, 1 Pathologist, 1 Assistant-Director, 46 assistant doctors, 1 dentist, 1 Charge Sister, 2 nurses, 8 medical assistants, 2 medical technicians grade -2 (radiology), 1 medical technician grade-2 (medicine), 2 departmental clerks, 20 staff nurses, 34 nurses and 3 midwives are serving their duties in respective townships from 17 August to 3 September.
