Shweku 9 September


A ceremony to release fingerlings into paddy fields in Tonepon village in Shweku Township, Bhamo District, Kachin State was held this morning.


With the aim of increasing fish resources and promoting fish production, the Township Department of Fisheries released fingerlings into natural lakes, creeks, rivers and paddy fields. 


At the ceremony, Deputy Township Administrator, officials from Township Department of Fisheries, departmental personnel, members of Township Maternal and Child Welfare Association and Women Affairs’ Committee and local residents released 50000 fish species of different kinds into the paddy fields owned by 18 farmers in the village.
