Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr Win Myat Aye, in his capacity as Secretary of the National Volunteers Steering Unit, held a virtual meeting with members of Myanmar Youth Affairs Committee (Yangon Region), charity organizations and volunteers yesterday afternoon to discuss efforts for prevention and control of COVID-19 in Yangon Region. The Union Minister said that the meeting is intended to help provide assistance to volunteers in making efforts for prevention and control of COVID-19 in Yangon Region, and invited suggestions from the participants.


Volunteers and charity organizations in Yangon Region and members of Myanmar Youth Affairs Committee (Yangon Region) discussed various matters related to medical accessories, management, increasing motivation to volunteers and suspected patients in quarantine centres, necessary training, the differences between the first wave and the second wave of COVID-19, and other related matters. The Union Minister, the Deputy Minister and other participants also made discussions. The Union Minister expressed thanks to the participants and pledged that the Ministry will cooperate with other departments to help volunteers and charity organizations in their efforts to control COVID-19 in Yangon Region.
