Pinlebu, 16 January

A rural electrification facility implemented in 21 villages under the National Electrification Plan (NEP) was launched in Kathaw Village, Pinlebu Township in Sagaing Region on 15 January.

On the occasion, the Pyithu Hluttaw Representative U Min Naung, the regional lawmakers, Assistant Township Administrator U Min Naung, an official from the Electricity Supply Enterprise, and the village administrator cut a ceremonial ribbon to open the electrification structure. Next, the Lower House MP, Regional Legislator for No. 2 Constituency U Than Hlaing and an assistant director of the Department of Planning gave speeches and disseminated knowledge about the risks of electricity.

The village consists of over 80 households and the residents now have access to electricity. So far 81 NEP villages in Pinlebu Township have been facilitated with electricity.—Myo Lwin (IPRD)
