Two men were burned to death in a head-on collision on the Yangon-Mandalay old road in Yedashe Township, Bago Region, the Ministry of Home Affairs reported.
The fatal accident occurred between mileposts 201/1 and 201/2 on the Yangon-Mandalay old road near Yayni Bridge at about 5:10 a.m. on 29 June. An oil tanker caught fire after colliding with a 22-wheeled truck coming from an opposite direction after the driver lost control of the vehicle. The fire spread three nearby stalls and the driver of oil tanker identified as Thein Win Tun and a passerby died from severe burns.
Both truck driver and oil tanker driver have been taken action over reckless driving by the local police.
