THE 104th National Day cele­bration was held yesterday at the Thiri Mingala Hall of No 6 Basic Education School in Za­buthiri Township, Nay Pyi Taw Union Territory. The event was attended by Nay Pyi Taw Council Chair U Than Tun Oo, council members, departmental officials, representatives from the Nay Pyi Taw Education Office, district and township administration body chairpersons, education officers, headteachers, teachers, students, and parents.

 

The celebration began with students performing the song ‘Zarti Marn’, symbolizing the na­tional spirit. This was followed by Nay Pyi Taw Council Chair U Than Tun Oo reading the Na­tional Victory Day message from State Administration Council Chairman Prime Minister Sen­ior General Thadoe Maha Tharay Sithu Thadoe Thiri Sudhamma Min Aung Hlaing.

 

Awards were then presented by Nay Pyi Taw Council Chair U Than Tun Oo and Council Mem­ber U Myint Soe to winners of essay and poetry competitions held for middle and high school students in honour of the 104th National Victory Day.

 

Students from No 11 Basic Education High School in Zabuth­iri Township performed the song ‘Myanmar School’ to mark the oc­casion. Attendees, including the council chair and officials, also toured an exhibition showcas­ing winning entries of the essay, poetry, and poster competitions held to commemorate the event. — MNA/TMT
