13th Int’l Friendship Medical Mission 2019 opens in Nay Pyi Taw

The 13th International Friendship Medical Mission, a programme for providing free surgical service to children with cleft lips and palate, was opened at the 1,000-bed hospital in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.


Under the programme jointly conducted by Smile Asia Medical Team and the Kanbawza Bank, specialists from the Nay Pyi Taw 1,000-bed hospital and from Smile Asia will carry out free surgery for over 100 children with cleft lip and palate from 15 to 18 December at the hospital.


At the ceremony, Chairman of Nay Pyi Taw Council Dr Myo Aung delivered opening address and Director-General of the Ministry of Health and Sports Dr Thar Tun Kyaw, Chief Executive Officer of the Kanbawza Bank Mr Mike DeNoma and General Council Member of the Smile Asia Mr Michael Wu delivered remarks.


At the ceremony, Dr Daw Pa Pa of the Nay Pyi Taw 1,000-bed hospital presented a certificate of honour to Mr Mike DeNoma and Prof. Dr U Win Tun to Mr Michael Wu.
