A group of local authorities provided the disaster victims from Nyaungwun Village, Mawlaik Township in Sagaing Region with relief supplies on 28 July.
The disaster victims became relocated due to riverbank erosion of the Chindwin River on 22 and 26 July. Chairman of the township management committee Township Administrator U Thet Myint Oo and Assistant Director of the Department of Disaster Management U Than Win Soe Ks. 102,100 each and relief items to four families of the victims.
So far, 15 houses and two monasteries were moved to a safer location after the village was being eroded by floodwaters from the Chindwin River from 9 to 26 July, according to the figures from the General Administration Department.—Mawlaik Tharlay
