People returning from China through Laukkai and Chinshwehaw border checkpoints in Kokang Self-administered Zone in Northern Shan State have been sent back home by trains since May 6.
The returnees were presented with certificates that recognize they have been kept under 21-day quarantine in Chinshwehaw Town before their departure for homes. The returnees will also be put under one-week home quarantine when they arrive in their native towns and villages 158 returnees—93 men and 65 women—came back home by trains on July 1.
158 returnees include 15 people from Kachin State, two from Kayin State, three from Chin State, 50 from Sagaing Region, one from Nay Pyi Taw, 27 from Bago Region, 25 from Magway Region, 18 from Mandalay Region, one from Shan State, eight from Rakhine State, three from Yangon Region, and five from Ayeyawady Region.
So far, a total of 11693 people coming back from China have been sent to their homes through Lashio.
