THE Bago Region government stated that a 16-horse-drawn carriage of King Bayintnaung was reconstructed by preserv­ing historical significance in its original size to be placed at Kanbawzathadi Palace.

 

The carriage is being built splendidly in Maekon village in Bago Region by preserving cultural heritage artefacts, au­thenticity and integrity of that historical carriage used by the renowned Myanmar King Bay­intnaung who established the Second Myanmar Empire in Hanthawady Capital in AD 1566.

 

The carriage from shaft tip to tail board is 28 feet and five inches long. The coach’s body is 13 feet and seven inches long, six feet and nine inches wide and 19 feet and two inches high. Inside the coach, it expands five feet and eight inches from foot­rest to ceiling, the length is five feet and seven inches and the width is four feet and six inches.
