Wakema 8 August

A ceremony to present compensation to 18 farmers was held at convocation hall of the government’s technological institute in Wakema, Ayeyawady Region on 7 August, with an attendance by Chief Minister U Hla Moe Aung.

At first, the regional chief minister delivered an address. Next, Regional Minister for Municipal Affairs U Kyaw Myint, Regional Minister for Social Affairs Dr. Hla Myat Thwe, Regional Minister for Security and Border Affairs Col Kyaw Swar Hlaing, Regional Minister for Agriculture, Livestock, Natural Resources and Environmental Consarvation U Tin Aung Win and concerned officials presented Ks. 133 million to 18 farmers whose 51.67 acres of farmlands were confiscated.

On behalf of the farmers, a local spoke words of thanks. The event was also attended by departmental officials and local people totaling more than 200.—Sandar Moe (IPRD)
