THE Ninth State Central Working Committee of the Sangha held its first meeting at Maha Pasana Cave on Thi­ri Mingala Kaba Aye Hill in Mayangon Township, Yangon Region, yesterday morning.

 

The meeting was pre­sided over by the Committee Chairman Aggamaha Pandita Aggamaha Saddhammajoti­kadhaja Dr Bhaddanta Can­dima Bhivamsa, while Joint Secretary Sayadaw Aggamaha Pandita Bhaddanta Sihanada acted as master of ceremo­nies.

 

At the meeting, the Sayad­aws supplicated the name lists of Sayadaws for the ninth State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee, and the Presid­ing Sayadaw sought approvals and concluded the meeting.

 

At noon, Chairman Sayad­aw read out the name lists of Vice-Chairman Sayadaw and joint secretary Sayadaws of the committee.

 

Chairman Sayadaw then presented religious certifi­cates to the relevant monks and recognition certificates to Dhamma Duta Buddhist University, Shan State Bud­dhist University and Patap­winttaung Buddhist Mission­ary University as Buddhist Universities.

Then, the representative Sayadaws signed the religious historical record book regard­ing the replacement, decision, approvals and records made at the seventh meeting of the eighth State Central Working Committee of the Sangha and the first meeting of the ninth State Central Working Com­mittee of the Sangha.

 

The Chairman Sayadaw delivered Uyawjana Gatha and concluded the meeting.
