With the aim of promoting fishery industry and preventing from scarcity of fish resources, the Fisheries Department is undertaking to release fingerlings into lakes, paddy fields, creeks and rivers across the country.

 

On 29 September morning, the Pakokku District Fisheries Department held a ceremony to release fingerlings into Irrawaddy River in line with COVID-19 health guidelines set by Ministry of Health, according to an official from the District Fisheries Department. 


  
Chairman of the District Administration Council U Nay Myo Aung, Colonel Min Maung from the Tatmadaw Cantonment in Pakokku, chairman of the Township Administration Council U Aung Soe Moe, members of the Township Hatchery Plantation Supervision Committee and departmental officials attended the event and released a total of 200000 fingerlings into the river.—Kiling Pe(District IPRD)
