23 footballers chosen for U-23 squad; to play training matches in Thailand

VELIZAR POPOV, the head coach of the Myanmar national U-23 football team, has released the list of 23 players selected to play training matches in Thailand, according to the Myanmar Football Federation (MFF).

The Myanmar National League was temporarily suspended for about one month as the national football team took part in the FIFA World Cup qualification. The national U-23 football team was also being trained in a camp since 19 August.

The 23 players selected for the U-23 squad are goalkeepers San Satt Naing and Phone Thitsar Min, and defenders Zin Ye Naung, Aung Wunna Soe, Htoo Khant Lwin, Kyaw Phyo Wai, Ye Yint Aung (1), Ye Min Thu, Hein Phyo Win, and Kyaw Thu Tun.

Midfielders selected on the team are Kyaw Myo Naing, Myo Min Phyo, Nay Moe Naing, Myat Khaung Khant, Wai Lin Aung, Aung Niang Win, Kaung Htet Soe, and Soe Lwin Lwin, and forwards are Aung Kaung Man, Htet Lin Lin, Win Naing Tun, Hein Htet Aung, and Thant Zin Myint.

The Myanmar U-23 football team will play training matches against the Singha Chiangrai United team on 5 September and the Chiangmai team on 8 September at the Singha stadium in Chiang Rai Province, Thailand, which is the home ground of the Singha Chiangrai United team. — Kyaw Khin
