Magway Region recorded 26 more confirmed covid-19 cases on Tuesday, raising the total number of virus cases to 2,2505, according to figure updated by the Department of Public Health.
There are still people in the region who are free of the virus and are in good health and have been discharged from the hospital. The confirmed covid-19 patients on December 29 were from Magway, Aunglan, Salin, Myothit, and Myaing Townships.
A contact tracing process is being conducted to expose people who had close contact with the coronavirus patients. Meanwhile, 336 virus patients are being treated at various hospitals in the region, said Dr Khin Maung Than, assistant director of the region's Department of Public Health.
Magway Region saw 2,505 confirmed coronavirus cases in total, with 2,163 patients discharging from hospital and five deaths.
