27 new virus cases detected in Magway Region

Magway Region reported 27 new coronavirus cases on Tuesday, bringing the total number of virus caseload to 3,041, according to data updated by the Department of Public Health.


There are still people in the region who are free of the virus and are in good health and have been discharged from the hospital. The confirmed virus patients on January19 were from Magway, Aunglan, Seikphyu, Chauk, Yenangyoung and Pwintbyu Townships.


A contact tracing process is being conducted to expose people who had close contact with the coronavirus patients. Meanwhile, around 300 covid-19 patients are being treated at various hospitals in the region, said Dr Khin Maung Than, assistant director of the region's Department of Public Health.


Magway Region recorded 3,041 confirmed coronavirus cases in total, with over 2,700 patients discharging from hospital and nine deaths.
