Sumbrabum, 12 December
    

Three people have died after a car plummeted into a ravine in Sumbrabum Township, Kachin State, according to the Ministry of Home Affairs.
    

The accident took place at milepost 98 on the Sumbrabum-Myitkyina Road near Khakayang Village in Sumbrabum Township at around 3 p.m. on 10 December. A Pajero car with six people on board was driven by a man identified as Kyi Soe, 54 years old and was heading to Myitkyina from Sumbrabum. The car plunged into a 100 ft. deep canyon after the driver lost control, resulting in the killings of three people on the spot. Three others including also were injured in the incident.
    

Out of the injured people, the driver sustained severe injuries and they were transferred to a public hospital in Myitkyina via Sumbrabum. The driver is being questioned over reckless driving by the local police.—
