Quarantine centers have been set up in Chinshwehaw Town to keep people returning from China in order to contain the spread of coronavirus. 347 people were allowed to go home after being placed in 21-day quarantine on 29 April.

Chairman of the township COVID-19 control and prevention committee Town Administrator U Thet Oo Paing and secretary of the committee Dr. Thiha presented the returnees with certificates that recognizes they have been kept under 21-day quarantine in Chinshwehaw Town before their departure for homes. The returnees will also be put under one-week home quarantine when they arrive in their native towns and villages.

347 returnees –162 men and 185 women—include 25 people from Mandalay Region, 65 from Sagaing Region, 34 from Bago Region, 201 from Magway Region, and three each from Kachin State and Nay Pyi Taw Council Area.

So far, a total of 6,002 people coming back from China have been sent to their homes through Chinshwehaw border checkpoint.—Zin Zin (IPRD)
