A total of 35 basic schools in Nyaung-U District, Mandalay Region will be upgraded in 2020-2021 academic year, according to U Aung Htay, Assistant Director of District Education Officer’s Office.

In Nyaung-U Township, a post-primary school will be upgraded to primary school (Branch), seven primary schools will be promoted to post-primary schools, and two self-reliant schools will be upgraded to primary school (Branch). In Kyaukpadaung Township, one high school, one high school (Branch), five middle schools, four middle schools (Branch), 12 post-primary schools, one primary school and one primary school (Branch), totaling 25 schools will be upgraded. 

In 2020-2021 academic year, a total of 3851 schools across the nation have been allowed to upgrade. In Mandalay Region, the level of a total of 252 school will be upgraded.
