With the aim of promoting fishery industry and preventing from scarcity of fish resources, the Fisheries Department is undertaking to release fingerlings into lakes, paddy fields, creeks and rivers across the Thabaung Township, Ayeyarwady Region.
On 12 October morning, Thabaung Township Fisheries Department held a ceremony to release fingerlings into Ngawan River in Ward-2 in the Town of Thabaung to keep the fish reproduction, according to an official from the Township Fisheries Department.
At the event, an official from the Township Fisheries Department clarified the purposes of fingerlings planting ceremony. Afterwards, chairman of the Township Administration Council U Min E Yar Htike and officials released a total of 350000 fingerlings including 300000 ngamyitchin and 50000 ngakhunma into the river to promote fishery industry and prevent from scarcity of fish resources.—Myo Zaw Thein(Thabaung IPRD)
