Four people were injured after a six-wheeled truck hit a big stone and overturned in Saw Township, Magway Region.
The accident took place between mileposts 55/1 and 55/2 on the Saw-Seikphyu Road about 14 miles from Saw Township near Pyon Village at around 1 p.m. on 24 December. A six-wheeled truck bound for Mt. Victoria in Kanpetlet Township in Chin State from Yangon crashed into a big stone and flipped over, injuring 4 out of 10 people on board.
Policemen, firefighters and members of the Myanmar Red Cross Society rushed to the scene of accident to assist in rescue operation and the injured people were sent to a public hospital in Saw Township. The accident is believed to have started from a faculty braking system of the vehicle.
The truck driver identified as Chit San Maung fled the scene and an investigation into the case is ongoing by the local police.—Zaw Myo Thant (IPRD)
