Four people have been confirmed dead after landslides hit Garut Regency in Indonesia's West Java province, Hadi Rahmat Hardjasasmita, the spokesperson for the provincial disaster management and mitigation agency, said on Thursday.
The landslides struck a house in Girimukti village of Cisewu sub-district at 6:30 p.m. local time on Wednesday, he said.
"The bodies of the four victims have been discovered," the spokesperson told Xinhua.
High-intensity rainfall over a prolonged period was blamed for the natural disaster, according to him.
