With the aim of promoting fishery industry and preventing from scarcity of fish resources, the Fisheries Department is undertaking to release fingerlings into lakes, paddy fields, creeks and rivers across the Pathein Township, Ayeyarwady Region.
On 4 October morning, the Pathein Township Fisheries Department held a ceremony to release fingerlings into Ngawan River to keep the fish reproduction in the Township, according to an official from the Township Fisheries Department.
At the event, an official from the Township Fisheries Department clarified the purposes of fingerlings planting ceremony. Afterwards, chairman of the Township Administration Council U Lin Ko Ko released a total of 410000 fingerlings into the river to promote fishery industry and prevent from scarcity of fish resources.
