48 returnees allowed to go home after 21-day quarantine in Shinshwehaw

Quarantine centers have been set up in Chinshwehaw Town to keep people returning from China under 21-day quarantine in order to contain the spread of coronavirus. 48 people were allowed to come back home after being placed in 21-day quarantine on 7 May.

Chairman of the township COVID-19 control and prevention committee Town Administrator U Thet Oo Paing and secretary of the committee Dr. Thiha presented the returnees with certificates that recognizes they have been kept under 21-day quarantine in Chinshwehaw Town before their departure for homes. The returnees will also be put under one-week quarantine when they arrive in their native towns and villages.

48 returnees –27 men and 21 women—include one people from Yangon Region, nine from Magway Region, two from Ayeyawady Region, 35 from Shan State and one from Nay Pyi Taw.

Currently, 285 people coming back from China are put under 21-day observation at quarantine centers in Chinshwehaw and so far 137 people have reportedly been allowed to go home—Zin Zin (IPRD)
