About 500 members of the Sangha in Sagaing were offered religious identity cards at Myasattkya monastery and Maha Thubawdayone monastery in Sagain yesterday.

The Department of Immigration and Population offered religious identity cards to 264 monks in Myasatkya monastery and 207 in Maha Thubawdayone monastery yesterday.

“The religious ID cards are essential to members of the Sangha on religious duties. The cards will help members of the Sangha to obtain passports and to enable their stays in other places”, said U Yin Htwe from the Department of Immigration and Population in Sagaing Region.

The Ministry of Labor, Immigration and Population is issuing ID cards under Thittsa project to citizens and members of the Sangha around the country.
