53 Myanmar citizens returned from China and they were placed temporarily at an observation camp in Chinshwehaw Township, Northern Shan State on September 22.
Swab samples were taken from the returnees and sent to National Lab in Mandalay this morning to check out as to whether they are infected with the coronavirus or not. 53 Myanmar citizens were four from Yangon Region, one each from Mandalay and Ayeyawady Regions, 19 from Sagaing Region, two from Magway Region, three from Kachin State, 10 from Chin State, five from northern Shan State and eight from Rakhine State.
The returnees were welcomed by Chairman of the township Covid-19 prevention and control committee Township Administrator U Thet Oo Paing, immigration officials and local authorities at Chinshwehaw border gate.
So far, 15,331 returnees—8,492 men and 6,839 women—were sent back home in respective regions and states.
